The
Caravan are travel agents and tour operators based out of the
capital city of India at New Delhi. The Office is located in the
commercial hub of New Delhi at Nehru Place.
The Leh Ladakh tour packages and
its operations and logistics are handled locally from Leh in Ladakh.
Caravan’s local partners are Ladakhis and sons of the soil based in
Leh and operate hotels, camps and a fleet of vehicles with a team of
experienced guides and tour escorts in Ladakh.
For road trips
Caravan has local handling agents at Manali, Sarchu and Srinagar in
addition to the Camp Office in Leh.
The Caravan has been in the travel business since 1997.
They handle tours and bookings for individual travelers,
honeymooners, family groups and corporate groups.
You can choose
from a normal sightseeing tour to a cultural tour to a trekking tour
to a corporate offsite.
Members of Team Caravan have themselves
extensively travelled within Ladakh and understand the land closely
– its terrain, destinations, people and culture.
The logistics and operations are supported by many behind-the-scenes
people of Team Caravan.
The itineraries on this website have been designed keeping in mind
comfortable travel periods, safety and at the same time including
major places of interest. Since we have ourselves traversed over the
major areas in Leh and Ladakh, the itineraries can also be
customized and tailor-made to suit individual preferences and
requirements.
The local people we work with and the hotels and camps we use have
been majorly whetted by us during our visits to ensure that a
traveler would have a comfortable and enjoyable trip in Ladakh and
always get prompt and courteous service.

Our Synopsis of Ladakh:
High craggy mountains, snowclad ranges, wide desolate flatlands in
West Ladakh and Nubra Valley, ancient monasteries dotting the
landscape, prayer flags fluttering in the wind all around, lamas in
their orange garb, the ubiquitous presence of the army, the
interesting road quotes of the BRO, bouts of altitude sickness, long
drives on winding mountain roads with spectacular landscapes, curio
shops crowding the markets, huge statues of Buddha in its various
forms and avataars in the monasteries and in the open countryside, a
land ringed by the Himalayan, Karokaram and Zanskar ranges, the
furious Indus River gushing across its valleys, the famous highest
motorable road at Khardungla (in the world), the biggest lake
Pangong with its mesmerizing colors and unending expanse (partly in
China), a land which even today remains almost completely cut off
from the rest of the country and world for six months in a year
during the winters, where the youth is still highly under-educated,
with a total population of about 2.5 lacs in 50,000 households, a
very low population density, the region represented by a single MP -
this sums up only what you see on the surface in the “Magical Land
