Day 01: Fly into Leh; 3505 meters / 11567 feet. Arrive at Leh Airport. Take the first whiff of this spectacular mountain city as you step out into 10000 feet plus terrain. You are received and welcomed by our local representative at the airport and transferred to hotel and you rest for acclimatization. In the late afternoon, after your Leh Ladakh tour briefing, you visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Namgyal Shemo Gompa and then stroll through Leh Bazaar. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh - The Kaal / Noble House / Ladakh Sarai. (Grand Dragon, Namgyal Palace, Spic n Span, Lotus Hotel, Gawaling International, Lha-Ri-Sa Resorts, Hotel Caravan Centre on request at additional cost).	View from Stok	Leh, a historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom. It is dominated by the nine-storey Leh Palace built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture. However, it is now dilapidated . Shanti Stupa: 3 km from Fort Road, Leh, it is a magnificent white-domed structure and located on the hilltop at Changspa. Namgyal Tsemo Gompa: Was founded around 1430 AD. It stands atop the crag behind Leh Palace and offers the most splendid visuals of Leh town. One of the most treasured possessions of the monastery is a three-story high solid gold idol of Maitrieya Buddha.
Day 02: Today your Leh tour takes you for a full day Indus Valley monastery tour to get a flavour of the history and culture of Ladakh India. With a visit to Thiksey, Shey and Hemis you cover the best known monuments around Leh in this phase of your Leh package. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Bust of Buddha in Thiksey Monastery	Hemis Monastery, 40 km southeast of Leh, is the biggest and best-known 'Gompa' of Ladakh. Hemis is also associated with the Hemis National Park, also the abode of the snow leopard, Tibetan kiang, ibex, serow, Tibetan antelope and avian fauna population found are the snow partridge and golden oriole. Thiksey Gompa was built 600 years ago, consists of 12 levels ascending a hillside, 10 temples and a large Buddha statue.
Day 03: Drive west of Leh to Alchi (3300 m / 10000 ft)., Ulleytokpo 68 kms one way from Leh. A different perspective of Leh Ladakh. After breakfast, drive via Hall of Fame (which has a museum of the Kargil War memorabilia), Pathar Sahib Gurdwara to Likir village and monastery. Then drive along the Indus river and cross it to reach Alchi and Ulleytokpo. Overnight in deluxe camps / cottages at Alchi, Uleytokpo.	The Magnetic Hill, West Ladakh	Alchi is a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 kms west of Leh. Abandoned centuries ago the gompa or monastery is known as Chos-kor, or religious enclave and comprises of five temples. Its murals, dating from the 11th century, pre-date the Tibetan style of painting seen in all the other gompas of the region. Unlike other monasteries, Alchi is at ground level and is nestled in the shade of a garden. Likir Gompa is set on an isolated ridge. Numerous thankas hang from the columns and walls in the Assembly Hall.
Day 04: After breakfast start off on an early morning drive of 55 kms to Lamayuru Monastery (the oldest in Ladakh) and the mesmerizing Moon or Lunar Landscapes. Lamayuru or lower Ladakh its also known as Sham. Later drive back to Leh, 125 kms, visiting along the way Magnetic Hill (where cars defy gravity) and then meeting the sangam of Zanskar and Indus rivers near Nimu. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Lunar landscape at Lamayuru, West Ladakh	Lamayuru Monastery. This is believed to have been a sacred site for the pre-Buddhist religion known as *Bon*. The main image is a large Vairocana (the Teaching Buddha) seated on a lion throne with a garuda (mythical bird) and sea monsters surrounding his head. Lamayuru is 125 kms west of Leh at an altitude of 3510 m / 11600 feet.
Day 05: On this leg of the Ladakh tour package drive north of Leh to Nubra Valley, 120 kms one way (6 hours). Exciting experience at Khardung La, 39 kms from Leh. (Mountain Pass at 5578 m / 18300 ft.). Here is supposed to be the highest motorable road in the world. In Nubra Valley (also known as Valley of Flowers), visit Diskit gompa, the white sand dunes and take a short camel safari on the double humped Bactrian Camels. Drive upto Hunder village. Overnight in deluxe camps / guest-house at Nubra Valley.	Double humped Bactrian camel in Nubra Valley.	The name Nubra Valley is applied to the region comprising the valley of the river Nubra and that of the Shayok, both above and below their confluence. The route north of Leh crosses over Khardung-la. From the top, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif.
Day 06: Visit Sumur village and Samtenling Monastery. Later drive upto Panamik Thermal Springs. Across the river, clinging to the mountains, are a few trees rooted among the rocks surrounding the tiny Ensa gompa. Overnight in deluxe camps / guest-house at Nubra Valley.	Nubra Valley and its white sand dunes	The altitude varies between 10,000 ft (3,231 m) at Hunder, and 10,600 ft (3231 m) at Panamik. Summer temperatures vary between 15oC and 28oC. Panamik, the last village on this circuit, is a sleepy village. On the mountainside, hot water bubbles out of the earth in thermal springs, reputed to have therapeutic qualities.
Day 07: Drive back to Leh, passing Khardung La once again. Today you have the option of staying at the fascinating Mongolian yurt cottages (made of bamboo and canvas) of Ladakh Sarai Resort next to Ayu in Saboo village, eight km east of Leh at an altitude of 3450 m. Experience the beautiful and tranquil location of the Ladakh Sarai, with the Indus River flowing below, facing the majestic Stok Kangri (6150 meters), offering an incredible panoramic view of the Zanskar range. Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort, Ayu, Saboo. You also have a choice of staying in Leh instead, in the regular A Class Hotels.	Overview of Ladakh Sarai Resort and Ayu	Ayu is renowned for its medicinal spring water, to which Ladakhis travel for healing. Close to the spring lies the village Gompa. Ayu also gives an introduction to a quaint Ladakhi village and an insight to their traditional culture, customs and cuisine. Don�t forget to taste Gur Gur or Yak Butter Tea. For those interested they can perhaps visit the Village Oracle as well!
Day 08: Make an early start and drive east of Leh via Chang-la Mountain Pass (18,000 ft / 5,475 m) to Pangong Lake, (4267m / 14000 ft.), 145 kms / 5 hours one way. The views all around Chang La are simply spectacular. Mesmerizing vistas with the changing hues of the waters of the lovely Pangong Lake. Drive back to reach Leh by evening. (Night stay at Pangong Lake can be offered at extra cost). Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort, Ayu, Saboo. You also have a choice of staying in Leh instead, in the regular A Class Hotels.	Chang-la Mountain Pass	Pangong Lake, is 6 to 7 kms (4.5 miles) at its widest point, and over 130 kms (80 miles) long. Above Spangmik are the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Pangong range. It presents a spectacular view of the mountains, their reflections shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake�s brackish waters. Spangmik is the summer home of Chang-pa, the nomadic herdsmen of Ladakh.
Day 09: A long drive to Tso Moriri through spectacular landscapes and rough roads via Chumathang hot springs into Rupshu Valley - 240 kms, 8 hours. Tsomiri, at 4595 m / 15165 feet, is the largest of the High Altitude Lakes to be situated entirely within India. It is 180 square kms in area and about 25 kms / 15 miles long and 7 kms / 4-5 miles wide. Overnight in deluxe camp at Tso Moriri.	Tsomiri Lake, at 4595 m / 15165 feet	Tso Moriri, Rupshu Valley: Here, the Zanskar range is transformed into bare rolling many-hued hills, divided by open high-altitude valleys scoured by dust devils. It is a landscape quite unlike any other in Ladakh or elsewhere in India. This area is now open for foreigners for visiting.
Day 10: Explore Korzok monastery, nomad Chang-pa camp and the migratory birdlife. Overnight in deluxe camp at Tso Moriri.	Himalayan Marmots	Korzok, situated at 15,000 ft (4,572 m) is the only permanent settlement in Rupshu. In Rupshu the animal most likely to be spotted is the Kyang, the wild ass. The lakes are breeding grounds for numerous species of birds.
Day 11: Tsomoriri lake - Leh, 265 kms / 9 hrs. Drive back to Leh via Tso Kar, Tanglang la (5359 m / 17700 feet). Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.

Day 12: Check out from Leh hotel and transfer to airport to board the morning flight to New Delhi or onward destination,
feeling blessed for the stolen moments spent in Ladakh.
