Day 01:
Fly into Leh; 3505 meters / 11567 feet.

Arrive at Leh Airport. Take the first whiff of this spectacular mountain city as you step out into 10000 feet plus terrain.

You are received and welcomed by our local representative at the airport and transferred to hotel and you rest for acclimatization.
In the late afternoon you visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Namgyal Shemo Gompa and then stroll through Leh Bazaar.

This is a half day, four hour trip.

Day 02:

Today your Leh tour takes you for a full day Indus Valley monastery tour to get a flavour of the history and culture of Ladakh India.

With a visit to Thiksey, Shey and Hemis  you cover the best known monuments around Leh in this phase of your Ladakh package.
You also pass Sindhu Ghat by the Indus river.

Overnight in Hotel at Leh.

Hemis Monastery is the biggest 'Gompa' of Ladakh. Associated with National Park.

Shey Gompa: Has a two-storey high image of the seated Buddha, 12 meters high with work of copper sheets gilded with gold.

Thiksey Gompa: Consists of 12 levels ascending a hillside. The gompa contains a large Buddha statue, 15 meters tall.

Likir Gompa is set on an isolated ridge. Numerous thankas hang from the columns and walls in the Assembly Hall. Picturesque views from the terrace and huge Buddha statue in the open.

Hall of Fame: West of Leh, it is a glorious museum constructed by the Indian army. You can see the memorabilia, images and weapons used during Kargil war and belongings of enemy soldiers found at the war site. Another section of this building is entirely dedicated to Siachen and its heroes.

Day 04:

On your Ladakh travel, today you make an early start and travel east of Leh via Chang-la Mountain Pass (18,000 ft / 5,475 m) to Pangong Lake, (4267m / 14000 ft.), 145 kms / 5 hours one way upto the shore of the lake and the first village, Lukung.

Mesmerizing vistas with the changing hues of the waters of the lovely Pangong lake.
En-route you get to see marmots and kiang, if lucky.
Drive back to Leh by evening.

(Night stay at Pangong Lake can be offered, if desired, at extra cost).

Pangong Lake - 145 kms from Leh, is situated at an altitude of 14,100 ft, over 130 kms (80 miles) long - only one-third of it lying in India

Above Spangmik are the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Pangong range.
 

Day 05:

Khardungla Pass (Gateway to the Nubra Valley)
 

From Khardongla Pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif.

The villages in Nubra Valley are large and prosperous and have thick plantations of willow and poplar.
The altitude is a little less than that of Leh, varying between 10,000 ft (3,231 m) at Hunder to 10,600 feet.

The main village is Deskit has a 500 year old gompa situated on a rocky spur above the village with a commanding view. About 7 km from Diskit; Hunder is a pretty village, set among lots of trees and gurgling streams.
